CONCRETE & COLOUR

Home away from home.
Working in contrast to its concrete materiality and industrial motif, Concrete & Colour has been injected with unexpected colour to build a spatial narrative from room to room. The colour’s pervading sense of fun encourages leisure and provides a desired home away from home, where extended family can come together while unwinding from the scurry of the city.
Concrete + Colour is a flexible space designed to accommodate the needs of a growing extended family. The overall design approach paired its existing concrete floor with other durable materials to foster tradition, ensuring that each family barbecue, birthday and boardgame night is held in a relaxed and practical environment.
The concrete floor – both the foundation of the home and the foundation of the design approach – encouraged a selection of materials, furniture and other wares that worked in a bright, colourful contrast. Washed by an abundance of light, this personalised and diverse colour palette guarantees an understated coastal interior that defies its often misread concrete base.
