Join artists Sisy Anderson and Scott Huette for the opening of Opposites in Harmony which explores the Inward & Outward, the Feminine & Masculine, and the Magnetic & Dynamic flow of energies.

Along with paintings and photographs from each artist, the show features an installation created collaboratively by Scott and Sisy. “Remembrances” showcases three 8 foot handmade scrolls each a hand painted photograph on rice paper.

A potluck reception will celebrate the Spring Equinox at Rose Springs Center with a life-size stone circle meditation, shamanic drumming and live music by Columbia River Music Circle.

The show is up throughout the Month of February 2010. And they featured one of my photographs from the 2008 Seattle Men’s Dinner on the front of the postcard. If you are in or near Vancouver this Friday, Feb. 5th, I would love to see you at the opening reception.

This opportunity was outstanding and a real joy for me. I met many wonderful arts administrators and artists in Florence Oregon. I am especially appreciative to Morgan Johnson, Ginger Buchman, Tara Haley, Lu Herr, and Lis Farm. As the exhibit coordinators and staff of the Florence Events Center they put on a top notch show with professionalism, integrity and attention to detail.

The quality of the art was mind blowing. I feel in love with so many works of art that it saddened me to leave.

8th Annual Celebrate Arts! Juried Art Show Call to Artists

Celebrate Arts 2009 Poster/Logo“Celebrate Arts!” enters its eighth year of offering bold and unique art created by multi-generational artists. Each year it has drawn more entries and attracted artists from well outside western Lane county, and 2009 will further prove this show as one of the best in the region.

Celebrate Arts! entry deadline is Friday, October 16. Artists may submit up to four pieces of art. Please see the Celebrate Arts 2009 Artist Entry Packet for details. The prospectus can be downloaded from the FEC web site at www.eventcenter.org. The packet may also be requested by sending an SASE to Celebrate Arts! 2009, Florence Events Center (FEC), 715 Quince St. Florence, OR 97439, or call (541)997-1994.

2009 Celebrate juror, Scott Edward Huette, will be judging on November 4 and the show will run from Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 15.

Returning this year is the very popular “Salon des Refusés” show. Art that is not selected for the Celebrate Arts Show will be displayed in a two-day show that will be open to the public, enabling everyone to view and purchase the many wonderful works of art that are entered in the competition.

All art enthusiasts won’t want to miss the widely popular 2009 Celebrate Arts!
